LEADER program

Since April 1, 2016 the Estonian LAGs have all necessary authorization and budget for the period 2014-2020 to implement their strategies:

- to develop the region
- to select individual LEADER projects
- to start LEADER transnational co-operation projects.

All Estonian LAGs and their local development strategies were selected in one phase.

26 local action groups will continue to operate in Estonia. Indeed there are some minor changes of municipal boundaries in some LAGs. Estonian LEADER will use only EAFRD funding, Fisheries LAGs will be operating separately.

The budget of LEADER in Estonian Rural Development Plan 2014-2020 is 90 mln euros, 10% of RDP budget is allocated for LEADER measure.

Piiriveere Liider asutati mittetulundusühinguna 30. märtsil 2006. aastal Eesti kagupiiri äärse piirkonna elu arendamiseks. Meie tunnuslause „Piiritu Piiriveere“ kannab edasi piirkonnaülest ideed areneda pidevalt ning koos töötades edasi.

Tegevuspiirkonna ühtsus väljendub väga tihedalt koos eksisteerinud kultuuri-ruumis, ajaloolises pikaajalises läbikäimises, paiknemises Eesti-Vene piiri ja Lämmijärve ääres, Seto ja Võru kultuuri läheduses ning sarnases sotsiaal-majanduslikus olukorras.
