Online-seminar: How to design digital services during COVID-19
Free Online Workshop | Exclusive for Public Servants & Policymakers | 7th May 4-5pm (BST)
The ongoing COVID-19 health pandemic has demanded that governments provide essential public services without face-to-face interactions.
Not only are governments faced with the challenge of rapidly digitising public services but they’re forced to do so whilst operating virtually as their own employees work remotely.
In this workshop we’ll teach you how to overcome these challenges using agile principles. Registrants will be able to submit an urgent digitisation need they have around a public service before the workshop. We’ll then select one and during the workshop we’ll show you how to run a virtual design sprint, a method that solves problems through designing, prototyping, and testing ideas with users.
As governments digitise their services and their employees continue to work remotely we’ll also reflect on how Covid-19 will change the landscape of digital government going forward.
What you’ll learn:
- How to run a virtual design sprint step-by-step
- Hacks for successfully integrating digital technologies into the public sector
- Tips for shifting from government-centred services to a focus on citizen-centred approaches
- Practical ways to ensure user collaboration in the design and delivery of digital public services
Who you’ll hear from:
Christian Bason, CEO of the Danish Design Centre and a leading international authority on design, innovation and leadership in business and government. From 2007 to 2014, Christian was Director of MindLab, the Danish government’s innovation team. Christian will be joined by Catherine Geanuracos, CEO and Co-Founder of CityGrows, a workflow automation software which helps local governments digitise and automate their workflows from start to finish, and improve operational efficiency, transparency, and compliance.
Who should join:
This workshop is for anyone interested in learning how to digitise public services and how to use agile principles to help them achieve this.
Open to all participants from the public service, civil society, and academia. If you are not yet a member of Apolitical, you will be taken to a signup page that will automatically register you for the workshop.
